Closure Statement

The Meydan Hotel to Take a Short Hiatus for Extensive Renovation
Dubai, UAE (9 April 2025): Following the successful hosting of the Dubai World Cup and esteemed guests, The Meydan Hotel Dubai announces a temporary closure of its hotel room operations and food & beverage outlets as it prepares for an extensive renovation. The hotel will close its doors starting 9th April 2025, ensuring a smooth transition as we embark on this exciting phase of transformation with a planned re-opening in December 2025 for the new season.
Since its opening in 2011, The Meydan Hotel has been the world’s first trackside hotel, located alongside the Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse, which hosts the prestigious Dubai World Cup — one of the top racing events globally. The hotel is renowned for offering breathtaking views of the racetrack from its guest room balconies. Catering to a diverse range of guests, including racing enthusiasts, business professionals, and leisure travelers, The Meydan Hotel has long been a symbol of modern luxury and architectural excellence. The stunning high-rise exterior gives way to an expansive lobby, nearly the length of a football field.
The centerpiece of the lobby, however, is the magnificent sculpture of the hand of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, designed to spell out "W", "V", and "L" — symbols of Win, Victory, and Love, representing his highness’s dedication, success, and affection for the nation.
In addition to its architectural and aesthetic appeal, The Meydan Hotel is also a renowned venue for events. It offers integrated spaces for meetings and conferences, enhanced by natural light, and a beautifully adaptable Meydan Ballroom, capable of being divided into four sections for various functions. Business centers are fully equipped to ensure seamless connectivity for corporate guests.
